A down and out movie director decides to team up with an up and coming actress in order to make a movie for his comeback. Using an old treasure map, he leads his movie crew on an expedition for what he thinks is a perfect deserted island to shoot the film. After an initial exploration, a civilization of strange pygmies are found; they subsequently attack the movie crew. After a number of battles, King Kong emerges from the center of the island and upon seeing the actress, deems her beautiful and captures her. Everyone goes on a quest to rescue her from King Kong, traveling through a fantastical prehistoric land with robust terrain and dinosaurs. After finding Kong they capture and send him back to America to take part in a Broadway Production. King Kong breaks free of the theater and rampages across New York until he is killed by the authorities; however, the actress comes to respect him in the end and mourns his death.
